i put a y8 head on a z6 block and my idle is fucked up it is up and down it'll be at 850 then it will jump to 2000rpms what the fuck is wrong i just cant seem to figure it out?
check for a vacuum leak if you haven't already
also when you set the timing did you jump the ecu? if not pull the hazard fuse for 10 seconds and try firing up the car again.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

im new to hondas but my d16y8 does the same thing when i first start up the car. Everyone has been telling me that my idle/air control valve is faulty, could that be the problem too?
