questions on mini me swap
wow so much wrong info on here it makes me sick.
#1. all heads and block are not interchangeable. you can't put a non-vtec head onto a vtec block. it will bolt up but the vtec block the spot that would hold the oil restricter for the head is too big and won't hold the oil restrictor.
#2. y8 and z6 head gaskets are now the same and all companies includeing Honda have made them all the same part number wich means they all cost the same. bserieskiller probly didn't know this cause he hasn't built a motor in such a long time
(j/k man get that crx back running)
#3. vx timing belt is too short. i beleive 103 teeth where as the z6 is 104. the correct timing belts for all d-series motors is always the one that is for the head.
#4. a 1.5 mini me + n20 = snapped rod. trust me i found out the hard way even after being warned allot not to. it was a learning exp and a mistake that i made sure not to make again. thanks again to bserieskiller for coming through on a repleacement head that time to

yeah but when you ordered the y8 headgasket i bet you didn't ask about the price of a z6 one at the same time?
let me know when you have the car running again. i look forward to a day at the track when it's cold out. hope to have a turbo back on in a couple weeks. n/a and low compression ownes me.

Hey liters dont really matter what matters is dat the d16 head will fit no matter what on the d15 blocks becuase 1.5 and 1.6 are interchangable in many things
