i was just searching around on the web when i saw that some guys could get hp out of there car with out spending a dime. does anyone know of any secrets that will give me hp with out spending $ ?????? any help would be greatly appreciated. also, does anyone know the tranny code to an ex and si tranny? are they the same? lmk. thanx

Depends what mods you already have done... But yes, on a stock car, there are a lot of "free mods" that can be done

yes the 99-00si transmission is completely different and not compatable.

as far as free mods go. theres not much u can do except maybe advance your ignition timing via the distributor a couple degrees. and maybe modding the factory airbox to make it a little less restrictive

Seriously now, there's not much you can do for free, only weight reduction, but unless you strip down the car to the metal, the difference won't be much.

You want stupid sounding cheap ideas, lets see, build a PVC pipe "Cold Air Intake", check new houses construction areas for free piping , do the infamous resistor mod on you IAT sensor, 99Cent pack at radio shack, advance your timing, free, use a 12mm wrench,, gut out your factory cat conv.,free but a PITA. But in the end it is better to wait and get the right parts.
