is it a inline pump or a intake?if intake maybe the filter fell off this happened to a guys car i worked on and that makes you lose at least a whole 2" of gas

Sounds like your pump is takin a poop to me... I would say replace it, and then replace your fuel filter, and maybe even pressure regulator... If that doesnt solve your problems, it must be a wiring issue, or an issue with that cell...
