Default Shop Experience: Race Related

First off. I know some people have had good experiences with Race Related. I didnt. And after leaving the shop I talked to a couple customers and tuners that had the same experience I did.

We make it up to Race Related by 10:25am so we could be the first togo on. James straps down the car by 10:35am. Seems like a real good guy at first. Goes through some instructions with the owner of the car, etc. We make a couple pulls. We can't get a signal from the pickup. We try putting the pickup in different locations. Still nothing. We make some more passes todo some lower RPM tuning where we could actually get a signal from the pickup. We goto find James. He is no where to be found. His truck is gone. Two customers come in looking for James. I tell them I dont work here and he left. There was only one other employee in the shop and he didnt know howto operate the dyno. James returns an hour later. He tells us to try the pickup on the distributor ground out. We try that and still nothing. James says he will try another pickup. Another half hour or more goes by. James is still working on a customer's Mustang. My friend John/Mtber comes in as he has a dyno appointment after us. We were not made aware of this appointment. John/Mtber tries a couple things with no success. We finally decide, still with no help from James, to pull the car off the dyno and let the next car on. We leave togo empty the catchcan. James told the customer paying for the dyno time he could come back and use his time. John/Mtber calls me to tell me a setting(s) in the dyno software was incorrect and/or off. Great. Wasted time. We come back after about an hour to hour and a half. Mtber and I were in the customer's car. Showing Mtber how much AEM EMS sucks The customer comes out upset. He tells me we need to leave. He wanted to take James up on the four hours next weekend as it is his birthday today and he had a birthday party togo with his family. James still asks for the $400.00.

Long story short. Horrible experience with Race Related.

Every time I dyno at RR, there was always an issue with the pickup. I have never had an issue with James, but the guy that normally operates the dyno, is a true winner.

BTW, whats wrong with the AEM?

You had two more cars dyno AFTER a setting or setting(s) were changed in-front of a couple people. I'm glad their pulls went good. I made a mention of the ignition breaking up on a couple runs. Not all of them. Turbo Honda's tend to breakup. Plug gap, plugs and such. Went back out on the street and the car didnt breakup and ran flawless. Maybe we didnt understand what you said. I thought what you said was "come back and I will take care of you as far as pricing". We took "pricing" the wrong way?

I specifically said to you and Shawn"come back after you empty your catch can and there will be no extra charge",both of you were there, both of you heard me,the setting I adjusted was 180 revs per to 720 revs per, exactly what I did for you.The ride I went for was to help another customer, the Honduran guy with the black mustang,I wasn't out chillin' amywhere,I didn't stop all day and tried to help everyone I could like I always do.We don't deserve this.I have no less than a dozen independent tuners that use my dyno and they hardly ever need my assistance and I apparently didn't know your combined experience level(not meant in a bad way)nect timewill probably be better for you especially because like I said it is for free.

I didnt hear you but Sean told me. We did come back. To try and ask you if we could schedule it for next weekend or another weekend in the future. Shawn had a birthday party togo to. Family waiting. And I know Mtber's first run the signal to the pickup was lost. That's when the setting was changed. Ok. The fact still remains you were no where to be found at the shop with one employee that didnt know the dyno software. I dont feel comfortable changing settings on someone else's dyno. Not to mention we had tried everything we could short of changing settings in the dyno software. And I did speak with a couple independent tuners that also had the same problems we did. I dont take that in a bad way. My post wasnt intended to bash you yourself. Not even your shop really. My experience. Like I said before I have been to Coastal Dyno (Mustang Dyno) and RevX (Dyno Jet). You will have to talk to Shawn about the time. I'm on my way out to his birthday party and I will discuss the post with him.

You misunderstood what my post meant. I meant the four trouble free dyno hours Shawn paid you for. Not the free hours, which I still didnt hear, you are talking about.

"come back and I will take care of you as far as pricing"

We took this the wrong way I take it?
