But anyway i was curious if there was a demand for someone to install kill switches for guys that dont have the knowledge or just dont feel comfortable with the install process.

**This is obviously not for the DIY guys!

I would not be doing this for pure profit, I just feel for the people that have had there car stolen and do not want to see anyone elses hard work go down the drain. some people cannot afford a really good alarm and this would be a great alternative that could possible save someone a HUGE headache. i never thought anyone would touch my car as i live in a very nice neighborhood, way in that back too, BUT IT DOES! doesnt matter where u live.

Id be willing to do this at a very fair cost and the switch would obviously be customizable in both switch type and location.

Im asking you guys if there is a demand for this and if there is how much u think such an install should cost with parts and labor of course. ANY feedback would be much appreciated. thanks
I say $50 - $75 depending on the parts.

DAVE

in florida i had the pleasure of seeing an individual at a stereo shop install a set of door blockers. they drill a 3/8inch hole in the door and door surround, and install them with some actuators so that when the alarm is activated the steel bar slides into the hole. kinda like a gate latch, the door COULD NOT be opened, only option was to break the glass, but then the thief would have to CLIMB all the way into the car.

i saw how they did it and its nothing too ingenious about it, combine this with an alarm and a manual kill switch, i dont see much happening

alarms are deterents ! Ive had customers come to the shop and ive driven The car in the bay while the alarm is going off. Best is to get a Actual Kill Switch Thats keyed ! Add a realy to the kill switch that will activate the starter circuit thats the saftest way or like said before pop the hood and .... some things !

i installed one in my car about a month ago. it took me about 30mins, and $20 bucks.
i hooked mine up to the starter and ran it through the fire wall...fairly easy.

your refering to "dead locks", a system used on either bmw, or mercs. due to this when someone would lock their keys in the car the only way to get it open without breaking the window, was to drill a hole behind the license plate.

as for demand on the kill switch the demand should definately be there, cost I could see parts at $10, relay, wire, connectors, switch. if a bracket or something needs fabrication then a few bucks more. then say $25 an hour for labor, cheap price for install and more reliable than an alarm.

thanks for all the ideas/feedback guys but this was mainly meant to help people less knowledgeable about their cars that dont have any theft deterrant system. it is not for my own profit but more of an offer to help anyone that needs it. either way tho keep the comments coming whether its slightly off topic or not
