Check the switch on the top of the clutch pedal bracket. Cut the wires and splice them together and it should be good to go.

that or check your cable going from the battery to the starter. it would be best if you had a DVOM or a DMM. check voltage on the gorund side of the starter, there shouldnt be any, if so then you have a bad starter ground. also check voltage going into the starter through the wire.

Do this before you go out and buy a new starter, which is too late.
Take the starter out of the transmision, hook it up with ground, get a wire hooked onto your battery, then connect it to the starter. If it turns, then it works.
Push start will start just about any car, even automatic if its capable of reaching 20 mph.
Push harder and faster, and get someone who done it before.
I have a problem starting my 240, later found out by my mechanic that it had bad connectors for the ignition.
If the car is capable of running by push starting and then for the meantime, hook a switch from the battery, and connect it to the starter adapter, which will make it turn, thus start the motor. I started my car like this for the last two months. Get a push button and extend the wires inside the cabin. Now you have a instant push start button to start your car.

BTW, if push start doesnt work, it might be mechanical. You are better off having a mechanic check it out, less headache for you.

You need a voltmeter. Check for available voltage at the solenoid while atempting to crank and check the big cable that goes to the battery. You should have B+ at both.
If you dont have power there, trace it back to the starter relay then the ignition switch and clutch switch...
Possible you may have gotten a bad starter from the store. They are remanufactured you know and nobodys perfect...

Ok just turn the key to the on spot,MAKE SURE ITS IN NUTRAL...then get a small maybe a foot of wire Jump the positive((the one wit the 12mm nut on it))to the starter wire the one with the lil black boot if your car starts then it lies in your dash fuse box!!!

dear god don't ever work on anyones car but your own. My advise if you can't fix it right, don't do it at all.

check the clutch interlock switch. Its located way up underneath your clutch pedal. Check for continuity turning the key. You might need someone to help you turn the key while you check. Iam almost 80 percent sure just going by what you discribe its your clutch switch.
