honda civic with idle surge,HELP!

Exclamation honda civic with idle surge,HELP!

95' civic lx 1.5 and the idle surges somtimes from like 900 to 1200 at idle what could this be i heard its common how is it corrected ............thanx

IS it throwing code? It could be a couple of things . Break in a Vacuum line, Iacv could be bad etc.

+1 for vacuum or iacv. mine did the same thing, it was the iacv. just unbolt it from the back of the manifold and spray some carb cleaner or something in there, if thats not it you have to get another one. or at least thats what i did with mine..

no codes and what is the iacv whats it look like where is it located,its my girls car,it runs fine it just oisses her off which in turn means i have to hear it.

ok, iacv valve has a white thing on it with a plug...umm i dont know how to describe it. it has 2 10mm bolts holding it on. its directly on the back of the manifold. if thats not it try any vaccuum lines that may not be connected.

although, if its not throwing any codes its more than likely a vacuum leak, just a little fyi. check vaccuum lines before you go yanking the iacv off
