Default 93 civic SE cranking problem

ive researced and couldnt find anything useful..its a 93 civic EX w/ vtec engine..heres the problem..it shut off at a red light and wouldnt start back up..it will turn over fine but will not fire..i thought maybe it was a low oil sensor but that was fine and the engine oil light was never on..the check engine light isnt coming on either so i cant tell what the engine codes are. i replaced the plug wires thinking maybe there was a problem there but that wasnt it..it has a fairly new distributor and rotor so i dont think that could be the case. i checked the fuses and they were all okay. if anyone knows anything else i could check, please let me know.

thanks

check your ignitor they fry alot its happen to me twice if it has a good cap and rotor and new plugs and wires and its getting fuel that could be the only other thing assuming every thing else is wired correctly etc.

only takes 3 things for your motor to fire. you can check to see if its sparking by pulling one of your plugs out and sticking a bare plug in it or a screwdriver and setting it against somthing metal you will see a spark jump.

the more i troubleshoot the more its beginning to look like a broken timing belt...i had someone turn the engine over w/ the distributor cap off and the rotor never spun, i also looked into the oil filler hole and the valves were not moving during ignition on...i turned the engine over tho and it wasnt locked up or anything..any ideas????

take of the valve cover and the side cover and you can see if its broke. that could cause some propbs too.

if the timing belt just snapped in half you have the possablity of bent valves or a stuck valve.

lol, if your head does manage to survive a little bit, when you get it running wait till it warms up and then take a water sprayer bottle and mist water directly into your intake. i heard this can help straighten some of the valves out. just fyi . unless im wrong someone correct me...possibly a dumb things also...spraying water into an intake manifold...w/e

if it died while idleing, than there is a good chance that your engine is fine. just put a new timing belt on quit turning it over until you do so.
