I have a chance to get a '97 Integra with 140,000 miles, cheap.

Is there anything I should be wary of? Other than, normal, obvious stuff? ANYTHING that might make it not worth getting?

I don't know the trim level yet. Supposedly it's the "top of the line" one, so that should be the GSR. Also supposedly well taken care of.

The downside is I have to fly to PA to get it. But I was planning to make a trip sooner or later anyhow, this just gives another reason.

I need a good commuter car, my Datsun gets 24 mpg, and has no A/C, which makes the summers pretty bad for an hour drive to work.

So...any reason this car isn't worth picking up?

theives LOVE OBD1 GSR(s). make sure u get a realllllly gooood alarm. rediuces the chance of it getting stolen..

You will absolutly love it I have a 97 GS and have had for about 2 years the only thing I have ever done to it besides normal routine maintence is replace the Timing belt.
I love my car and wouldnt trade it for the world

I too got mine pretty cheap and it was an Auto (the only downfall) but I recently bought a banged up LS and swapped the manny tranny in and voila, I could never be happier now

the only thing I would suggest you do is replace the timing belt, they are known for braking and could cause damage to the engine.
it does not cost much and let me know if you ever need to do it, my hubby does this for living and could hook you up!

Seriously, the only bad thing is #1 stolen car which might lead to higher insurance rates, and people trying to race you.

 

i really dont know about higher rates... when i had my 92 CX hatch my insurance was more expenisive than my 95 blazer. then i got rid of the blazer for the 95 integra GSR and it went down again....

 

It is a honda. Their is nothing to worry about, as long as you maintain it.

integras are really nice but they do get broken into alot my friend john has gsr with i type r front clip he had a carbon fiber lip and he was at international mall and some kid stole his lip and my other friend steven got his badges taken
