tell you what, before you change the distributor do this. everytime you replace a part clear your ecu. disconnect your battery terminals and then go press on the brake petal. reconnect the battery and crank the car up. see if it runs ok. if not then youll need another distributor. check your wiring and also your plugs? maybe theyre not doing their job?

this is going to be the 3rd dizzy in like 2 months....what do you mean the heat can cause this to go bad?

this can be replaced you just have to tear apart your whole dizzy and rebuild it with the parts of another one. or vice versa find a cheap dizzy for sale that has somthing else wrong with it and use the parts to make one good one. lol least thats what i do

excessive heat from any motor can cause any type of wiring to go bad. if your car overheats from time to time eventually it causes things to go wrong. but try resetting your ecu. if thats not it and your car doesnt over heat alot check your wiring and make sure no wires are touching anything. but try to reset the ecu first!!

the car doesnt overheat but it does seem to be putting out a lot of heat...i can feel the heat from the engine bay inside the car when i drive it....im not sure if thats normal..it didnt use to be that bad...my buddy says it needs to be timed it was throwing a code 8 which is top dead center but then one day it stopped throwing the codeand im not sure why

check your timing, i thaught i had a bad dizzy as well and it turned out to be timing was off.
