well i have been helping a friend here in mobile with his o4 S2k, he just got the full Vortech blower kit, with additional injector module and aftercooler. kit wasnt too bad to install, and overall a good bolt on!



baseline with the blower=290.7

after a lil tuning by me and a buddy=317.4

not too bad, could only make minor adjustments thru the cartech FMU, from vacuum to boost and while in boost, so until the AEM comes in were stuck

he had a BRICK WALL flat spot right before vtec crossover( a loss of 50 hpfor about 1000rpms), where it looked like he ran the low profile lobe completely out of power, and vtec transition was just too high, i have his graph on the video but i will put it up later

i think with the AEM EMS, and some cam gears we dial oput some of the overlap and get some more power out of it

nice. i just tuned an 03 last week with the same kit but with aem ems and 650cc injectors. it made 320/192 but there was definitely a lot more power in it just from messing with timing and maybe leaning it out a bit. the owner just wanted to keep it safe which i dont blame him. id like to see a graph of the 00-03 2.0 liter vs the 04 2.2 liter with the same mods....heres the graph of the 2.0(oh and the wideband on the dyno was reading about .7 leaner than the UEGO):

nice job dave, yeah there is a slight difference in the 2.0 and 2.2, and believe it or not, some of the stuff you would think fits but it doesnt, VORTECH sent us the kit for the wrong year and we had to send it back.

i had him sitting at about 11.9 in vtec and about 12.2 before, and in vacuum brought it a bit leaner, it washard without anything else to get adjusted.

right now all i see is EMS for up to 02' ans 03' im wanting to know if it will work on the 04, if so i wanna get it ordered this week

i was gonna put a diff and diff saver in it for him but he decided he wanted EMS, i told him good choice.


wheels are actually pretty decent for an 18 inch rim, they are marketed by Blitz i think
