You can only imagine what happened next. "Do you remember where we put that" "Do you remember where this bolt goes" and so on... Needless to say, when we were finished we had extra parts all over the place. I am glad to say she ran up until the the swap.

I forgot to tune my motor, it lasted 395 miles, no joke. Also, on the same car I installed a motor, started it up, it smoked like snoop, pulled it out. total running time: 60 seconds.

I think the worst motor swap horror story is when I was using integra mounts and the axles I could never get to sit striaght they where always a bad angle. I never could fix the problem until I replaced the mounts with hasports and relocated back the tranny side mount. A huge headache on trying to save a few hundred dollars. The axles would always rub on the lower a arm or fork. I tried to cut into the fork to allow clearance for the axles to be able to turn also with out letting it rub while turning. Now I have learned how important it is to just do everything the right way or don't do it at all.

I built a nice LS/vtec, never put in aftermaket valves, ran really really good with CTR cams. I swapped in crower stage 3's and ran it for about 3 months, then dropped a valve because of high spring tension and aggressive lobe ramps. Moral of the story: never run "RACE ONLY" cams in an engine with stock valves... It killed EVERYTHING, cracked sleeve, pistons, head, etc, etc. wasted $2k... only thing that was left was the crower rods and a LS crank. now I'm boosted and ONLY run stock honda cams.

I put in a D16Z6 in my old 93 civic out of a wrecked car that i bought for $100. Everything looked fine, except for the dented oil pan. After the swap was done, i was so tired of messing with the car that i didnt bother replacing the oil pan and I was ready to test out the new VTEC motor! Well everything ran "fine" and continued driving the car for about 2 weeks worry free-meanwhile noticing that VTEC just didnt feel right. On my way to class, i was getting harassed by an SUV and decided to take off and get away from the maniacal soccer-mom.. I ran through third in high RPMs and i guess I didnt get enought oil or oil pressure or whatever and slung a rod completely through the block! funny part is-I was planning to swap out the dented oil pan for a good one and give the engine an oil change and tune up after i got out of class that day.

I busted one of my A/C lines when doing the swap and I still haven't fixed it.. I definitely need to coz it's getting hot as fuck out.

I also blew one of the seals in the radiator when I hydrolocked my first motor, and coolant/water would come out the vent in my hood when the vtec would engage.. that looked pretty cool.. kinda like purging but ended very shortly when i replaced the radiator.

nothing else went wrong or bad.. except maybe when i had to fix the ECT sensor
