Default Cams and Cam Gears

I just bought a crower stg. 2 cam and kms springs and retainers for my d16y8 i/h/e. where can i get it installed at and for how much? second, i was thinking on getting an aem 5 bolt cam gear, but will i notice a difference? it says really for highly modified engines and i've only got i/h/e cam and later an im. so i don't think i qualify. if i wanted a cam gear later, do i need to take off the valve cover and go through all that or does it just un-bolt from the outside? thanks

I say if you're gonna install a cam you might as well get some high comp pistons and stronger rods to take advantage...then install your cam gear and get it tuned. should be good for 145whp depending how you set it up/tune it. would be a nice little all motor d-series motor

The best engine in the world is the vagina, it takes any size piston, its self lubricating, starts with 1 finger, and every 4 weeks does its own oil change. It's just a pity the management system is so fucking temperamental.

i'm also planning on not changing the red line but the cam produces power up to 7500 rpm's. can i just get a cam gear and advance the timing to bring the power down to peak at like 6800 to 7000? also please answer questions from first post. also, spectacle, i've heard that crower had the st. 2 designed to work best at 0 degrees, does this mean i will not get much of a power gain unless i raise the rev limit?

even tho crower gave you degree specs on the cam, that was htier motor not yours, it is just a ballpark to start in, there is no way in the world, you set timing as good or as bad as crower, and vice/versa. what im saying is you may need to degree it a mark or 2, it all depends, no motor is the same. a cam will work great with what you have, and a gear will only help.

you have to remove the side timing cover to get the cam out anyways, why not just pop the gear on the new cam then, dont go back thru all the shit to put on a gear.
