Default port work pt2

well after doing some reseach, and talking to a few members i decided to go with port flow.

i had no idea what i was in for on the headwork(price wise).well i talked to tom over at port flow and he explained a few options to me.the one i decided to go with was as follows.

disassemble/ clean/ inspection
port & polish
multi-angle valve job
deshroud valve area in chamber
polish chambers
surface or mill to my spec
assembly / new seals included

FERREA SPRING & RETAINER KITS
titanium retainer, dual valve springs, spring locator

ferrea valves .5 mm oversize

the price was right around $1,850.00

this head is going for a boosted application,so anymore input would help

are you paying portflow to source your ferrea valvetrain? it might be cheaper through someone else.

You are not just paying for someones time you are also paying for someones experience, knowledge, and skill when it comes to head porting. The average machine shop guy that will port your head around here won't have a tenth of the knowledge as these guys that port heads exclusively do. The guys that have been doing this for years deserve the $1000+ that they charge. $1800 is alot of money but the head will be top notch. Might be able to save some money by sourcing the Ferrea stuff elsewhere.
