i would just put a y8 dist. on the y8 head and get your ecu converted to run vtec. when you get it back from zdyne, you only have to hookup 1 wire to the vtec solenoid..

if you have converted to OBD-1, then don't bother with the zdyne. if you want to use your pm6 ecu and your 1 wire o2 sensor, then just send it (pm6) to zdyne to be converted. you then only have to hook up 1 wire, instead of 7 or 8.

the p28 is obd 1..you need a conversion harness to plug that ecu into your harness http://jkobd.com/0to1.htm . you then need to run an obd 1 distributor. here's where you run into a problem....the d16z6 (obd 1 sohc vtec) distributor doesn't exactly bolt up to the y8 head. you have 2 choices...
1. cut the holes on the legs of the OBD 1 sohc vtec distributor from a circle to a 'C' shape until you can bolt it up to the head. then use washers to hold it tight.
2. get a NON-vtec distributor (obd 1) and put the guts from a vtec distributor inside of that case. the NON-vtec distributor bolts up to your y8 head perfectly, so you won't need to cut the holes on the legs of it...
your choice..
you could also sell the y8 head and buy a d16z6 head. it will bolt up the same and you WON'T have dist. issues.
