talk to mattback and rainforest. chris built a mini-me in the spring that came out pretty well, but they didn't have many good things to say about it. as i understand...they both said it was difficult to wire and overall not an easy swap or worth the time.

if you're looking at a sohc vtec...turbo setup, then i'd look at a zc. they're low compression, come with around 135hp and go pretty well without turbo...plus they're not that expensive.

Your car is already an si then all you have to do is swap out the head, buy a vtec timming belt and a vtec head gasket and something to control the vtec. Wiring only comes into play if you have a dx then you have to do a little wiring thats not very difficult if you have skills.

I have a 91 A6 block with a 97 Y8 VTEC head and love it!
However if you are gonna boost make sure you go with low compression pistons!!! My mini-me has a 10.2:1 comp ratio w/ 125 hp/111 lbs at the wheels and 14.9 1/4 mile.
All this fun for under $500! Great bang for the buck!

I have the A6 block, distrib, intake man, and the Y8 head.
CRIX, what have you done to yours? Right now I'm looking for a PG7 ecu from an 89 Teg 5spd, if anyone has a lead.
