Default Parts needed on motor to safely run turbo

Hey what parts on a b16a motor would I want to upgrade to have a nice turbo run at about 12psi. Without hurting it at all. As well I'm looking to run about 12.5 sec range in quarter mile. Without stressing motor. As well any turbo kit suggestions. I don't have skills building a frankenstein. Can you please add on the area about Nos for the lag. Should I get small setup.

Thanks for answering my question.

Nothing. A turboed B16a in a CRX should do mid 12's easily. Stock motor, 440's and uberdata on any turbo.

+1 as long as your motor is up to spec before the turbo. hint: do an indepth tune up. I have to replace the rings on my b16, I put the turbo on and wasn't getting the boost response I should have. come to find out bad rings, the results..... I spent a lot of time installing and tuning the system only to not be able to drive it after just 2 weeks with the turbo on. the turbo didn't do anything to the motor, the motor was already wearing out, but the frustration and emotional let down if a nut buster, not to mention the oil leaking past the compressor seal made one hell of a mess.

in short, make sure the motor is good shape first, then it will take 12psi all day ( I was runnig 10psi, or was trying to get to 10). if the motor is on it's last leg then fix it first.

stock internals have been used up to 15psi with good tuning, I wouldn't go higher than 12psi just to be safe.

a good sized turbo, and some good fuel management should put u in the upper 2XXwhp range in a b16. just dont be another sucker that cheaps out on the fuel management and uses an fmu and/or AFC, get some 440cc injectors or larger and a good intank fuel pump and some sort of rom editing program for the ecu(i.e. uberdata, chrome, hondata, etc)

For the record, i ran the v-afc hack on a stock b16 at 14 psi with a greddy 18g kit. I used their blue box to fool the map sensor. I ran a 12.97 at 112 with that setup, with a bad 3rd gear synchro and a 2.40 60 ft.

I did have ctr cams, skunk2 IM and an urge to blow up a b16 (which i did at 16psi, when the ringlands gaveway.)

a AFC-hack is when you don't fool the map sensor at all. 450's + afc + -40%(correction) = AFC hack. and like we all have said, it blew up. ringlands breaking= detonation(from timing)
