Your only other option is building the motor for high compression. To do that right it can get expensive. Personally I would go with B series swap.

its not the vtec motor but i was thinking of putting a turbo on it but the car is only staying for a few more months till my g/f decides to get her 01 jetta but if i can find a good turbo complete for a couple hundred id do it i dont want to put to much money into it since its gonna be gone soon,but thans on the info.keith.

It's not really a strong motor. I would just leave it alone for now. If you feel like upgrading in the future, there are hundreds of options to go to. The USDM D15's aren't really something you want to make faster.
However, there are the minor bolt ons you can do, to free up some horsepower. Just don't go around expecting to beat up on Mustangs.
