b16 tranny
I currently have a a1 tranny on my b16, but I will be swapping to a built motor within the next year ( I am building it myself) and I want to make sure the tranny can handle what I am throwing at it, 30psi with a turbo
I like the short gears in the a1 except for 5th gear, 3k rpms in 5th and its at 70mph. so since I want the short gears for 1st, 2nd, 3rd, a little longer gear for 4th, and a tall gear for 5th. who make custome gear sets and is reliable. also what tranny besides the y1 takes an lsd. also is the y1 hydro or cable? my motor will be obd1 in a 92-95 hb.
with the gearing solved my next delema is the clutch/flywheel. This is a daily driver that will probably not see over 15psi on the street, so I need a clutch pressure plate combo that will not have alot of extra pedal effort, but still grab like a mother-fucker when needed. also what weight on the flywheel is optimal, I know too light and I loose inertial momentum, and too heavy and it takes for ever to to get moving.
would a multi disc setup be better for this type of rig?
then last but not least, axles/hub combos. I have heard gator, raxles, and a few others. what are your experiences with any of these, or any others that you use or should be avoided?
thanks ahead for the help
