High Flow Cats and My Car
Is a high flow cat illegal in FL? i know u're thinkin a cop won't go under the car and see but i don't want another reason for a ticket. i believe no cat is illegal. i've also heard that on obd2 vehicles, its hard to get a cat that doesn't set off the check engine light. if this is true, how do i fix that? how many places in FL have emission standards? i plan on moving to tallahassee, that's why i ask. thanks
no where in fl has emissions to my knowledge. an exhaust system can not "technically be altered from stock configuration. you can replace equipment but it must be similar to oem.
however as long as you have a cat the cop can't tell its high flow or not, and thats if they lay down to look for it. I run no cat but thanks to a resonator and tcs muffler from dc sports my car stays quiet and does not have the sound of a blender on puree. for the o2 issue, either an o2 simulator or wire both o2's into the one, ( not sure on exactly how to do this as there is a specific way to keep the cel from coming on). or upgrade to obd1 ( yes UPGRADE) and you have 1 o2 and it's not as sensative when it comes to bolt-ons.
