So long story short, hit a rock in the rain, look under my car, leaking something everywhere, next morning I look and its coming from transmission case, there are small cracks in it, well I JB welded what I could see and get to, but it stills leaks, not nearly as bad, but it still does, so anyway I was told I can get a new transmission case, but everywhere I call has no idea what I'm talking about... what can I do to fix my transmission

You can buy a new tranny casing from acura direct, but its kinda pricey especially if you don't have a parts account with them.

Try calling Neal sutton or Collin (Guys that have tons of shit laying around b/c they do it for a living).

 

if its on the bottom to Jbweld it you would have to take it off so the jbweld can set into and on the crack cause it will drip off and not set right if its upside down hd the same problem someone tightened there drain with a impact and got like a 3 in crack and tried to use it so then we took it off and did it has not peeled off or leaked in 8months and its run hard with Lsd in it

 

the big thing is to get the tranny turned up so you can get all the oil away from the crack. it has to be very clean before the jb weld can bond properly! use brake cleaner to clean the crack very good, then blow it out with an air line. also use qwick jb weld, not the original kind! it works much better! if ya get the oil out and get it VERY clean, it'll work great!!! the only other cheap option is get a case from a core tranny at the junk yard, but if ya dont know how to build a tranny, you'll be havin some problems. lol the jb should work great though! oh yeah, since ya already tried it, make sure you get all of the old jb out too!!!!!

Have it tig welded. I cracked the oil sender port on my block and no matter what kind of epoxy weld I tried no luck. I cleaned it real well and tigged it up and have not had a problem since.

Remove the tranny and then find someone really good at aluminum welding. Will be alot cheaper than paying for a new tranny case.

Tip: if you are going to have it welded, drill a small hole at each end of the crack to keep the crack from growing under the heat.
