You will make the same power with the LS vtec as you will staying LS, the LS VTEC will just make more power under lower boost because it will flow a little better, although, less boost=less torque... Keep in mind there are limits to what that stock block can hold... Dont think you will slap on a VTEC head and suddenly have 500whp on a stock LS block....

come on chris...you should know better by now. the only major difference when putting a vtec head onto an ls block is that it is going to flow a lot better at higher rpms due to the porting, cams and valve size differences than that on an ls head. torque is not going to be sacrificed but you will make a whole lot more HP at the same boost level...generally 10-15% more HP. for a example ...if an ls is making 300whp and 260wtq an lsvtec with the exact same setup except the head will do about 350whp and 260wtq provided that the turbo/components can flow that much at the higher rpms. the only thing i wouldnt do is try to rev the thing like it was a gsr or b16. id set a rev limiter a bit lower to be semi-safe.
heres an example of what one can do. damn LS turbo gurus:

What I meant by making the same power, with less torque, is that if he says " I dont wanna go over 275whp with my LS", then he can do that on the LS with, lets say, 245tq.. Whereas, if he converted to LS/Vtec, when he hit his limit of 275whp, hed probably be around 230tq..... I know these numbers are a bit off, but I was just using it as an example to clarify my previous statement....
