They need spool solenoids to compensate for the missing VTEC solenoid. That's all really.

Yes, actually I was.... I actually love the LS motors because they have a slightly longer stroke, so they are a true 1.8L, oppose to the GSR which in actuallity is NOT a true 1.8L..... This means a LOT more torque, which to me, is alot more important than horsepower... for Example, my LS-T made 300whp, with 280 lb ft torque, not a big gap between the two numbers, where a 300 horsepower GSR, would make significantly lower torque than horsepower, probably around the 220 range..... Got it???

I was joking but the spool solenoid is the only way to make a good amount of power with an LS IMO.
