SMC for honda (90-93 accord [turbo'd]) how does it work/will it work?

seriously I would like to know how a stock ecu is datalogged through the diagnostic port? since the diagnostic port is just that, a port to diagnose a problem with the engine. I.E. engine fucks up, cel comes on, plug in diagnostic reader, reader tells you what sensor threw the code. the same thing can be done by reading the blinking cel when you short the service connector, and looking it up in a book.
given that, the diagnostic port only tells you what fucks up not the exact voltages of each sensor, so datalogging would be non-existant. the only way I can see is to wait for a cel then grab a screw driver to adjust something on the smc, reset the ecu and see if the cel comes on. the whole idea of turning the settings with a screw driver reminds me of a carb on some old domestic, and this on a fuel injected vehicle. kinda going backwards.
If I have the wrong Idea on how that diagnostic port works show me a link to the correct info. but either way its a hack, this is the fatlady and you are putting on the blindfold.
plus since this is h/a tech and several people have never even heard of this thing, that might tell you to go with what is known. not saying it is bad cause no one has heard of it, even hondata started somewhere, but hell I wouldn't risk my car as a lab rat.

Pretty much anything
OBD1 And OBD2 chevy
OBD1 and OBD2 Dodge
so that pretty much entails cars from like 85- till present
Some OBD1 and all OBD2 fords
And pretty much everything else OBD2.
Every car is different on wat the ECU will acutally let me read. Hondas for really dont give a lot of sensor readings thru the ports, just the bare ones like o2 voltage, air temp, coolant temp, timing advance, RPM. vehicle speed, TPS
OBD2 chevys and a lot of fords it will tell you a lot, EGR sensors readings, what cylinders have misfired and how many times, a/c on or off, cruise control engaged, what gear the transmission is in, spark knock detected, fuel pump voltagem, battery voltage, and a slew of other stuff that is car dependant.
We can hook the scanner up to a laptop and it will graph the readings out believe, but we dont have the PC Link cable yet, cause we never really used for that. But we can read whats going jsut by looking at the scanner.
The onyl bad part about the scanner, it doesnt refresh very fast, but I dont know how the laptop link works though.

if all you get is o2 voltage, air temp, coolant temp, timing advance, RPM. vehicle speed, TPS. that may give a basic tuning for like boltons but with a turbo you'll need to tune in injector pulses in order to idle good and have a wider pulse on the throttle, also vacum/boost to advance or retard the ignition, and the basic o2 reading wont help when a wideband should be used to tune with. it may be a half ass hack that works for cheap but you get what you pay for. piggybacks under boost........BOOM
one other turbo f22 person guy dude, used SMC and he said it was shitty before he even put it on, and still said it was shitty...ill try to get hold of him and ask him what he is running now, but he only used the SMC for temporarily till his chip set for his ECU or something came in??...hmm..
