Default How high can I rev??

Is it safe to take a balanced LS crank to 9000+RPM?? I have a LS crank but I want to have a reliable motor thats not gonna die after a few passes.
Thanks, Frankie

If your oil pump part # reads #15100-p72-a01, your fine.

Anything beyond that your pushing it with oil starvation. With oil starvation, bearings don't get enough oil hence starts doing all kinds of weird stuff, like "boom" stuff.

The only cams that make power at 9000 RPM are Stage 3 Skunk2 or Toda Ds.

OEM cams or most of the 90% aftermarket cams don't make power beyond 8RPM, also depands on the header too!

Good luck, LMK if you need new OEM parts.

Hook up parts prices.

btw, when I had Jun3s cams (best of 12.8s), it only peak at 8000 RPM, and shift at 8000 RPM since it drop after taht RPM. Same with OEM ITR cams, expect OEM had more midrange than the Jun3s.

You might want to take rod strength into consideration along with valvetrain etc

You wont make power that high... Id say 8k-8500 is all youll need, but i see what your saying, better safe than sorry in case you miss a gear or something
