How high can I rev??

balnced or not a cast crank is only as strong as its weakest point. Even if its balanced it has the same tolerances (strength wise) than if its unbalanced only difference is how fast it breaks. LS Cranks are hefty but I wouldnt take one that high 8 at most build for 8500 and get a 2 step or rev limiter. I speak from experience when i say you dont need 9k rpm unless you like building engines ? my .2

so 8000-8500 i should be good?? or should i just go with a gsr crank??

found out the hard way...............+1.
I would only rev my LS crank to about 82-8500 rpm

You can rev an ls crank & rods to 8.5k-9k with no problems.

People blow motors up with ls r/s ratios because they don't drive them properly & or don't build them properly in the 1st place.

The ls r/s ratio makes it a little more dangerous then lets say a GSR or ITR r/s ratio....

Personally, I would run ither setup depending on the availability of the components.

If you "have to be at 9k every day" spend a little money & go with a GSR/ITR r/s ratio

what about valve, valve springs, and retainers i don't think it would be a good idea on stock ones to rev like that unless you like bending valves

if you read a few posts up, he has all skunk 2 valvetrain, although, ive seen some people rev the piss out off all stock ctr/itr valve train with no problems..........
