Best bang for the buck...
What is the best/easiest swap for EF hatch that is reasonable money wise, around $2000-$3000(motor and labor included) This is for a gutted car, so crazy power levels won't be necessary, also not a big fan of forced induction. Are 13's possible with just a straight swap with a stock b series motor in a gutted EF? Everyone put in your $0.02

my friend has an ef w/ b16 and he runs consistant 14.7
i would say get a b16 and build the head that should get you 13's if your runin the right suspension and tires, and should still be less than 3k

b-16 all the way, get all the bolt ons and head work and you sholud be running strong. a friend of mine had one in a 88 hatch made 2 1\4 or 2 1\2 exhaust pipe made cold air intake and comptech headers and his best time was 14.0 on drag radials. oh yeah he was gutted. what year is your hatch cause 88 is the lightest, and so was his he was also running the similar to type r closed geared ratio tranny ys1.
