Powder coat or spray paint??cheaper/better?
im about to put some ls wheels on my teg,but i want them either gun metal, bronze,or black,i dont have alot of cash,so what would be the best easiest and cheapest way doing it,without it looking like shit..opinions are gretly appreciated...-Greg
no primer, just send them down, clean them with mineral spirits, and spray a fuck out of them, preferably i would spray a few coats after drying, and its up to u if u use clear, if u want them shiny.
If you use spray paint, it will come of if you have new tires mounted on the wheels. Powdercoat is the much better option. It's much stronger and durable. You'll get a perfect, smooth coat. There's no downside to powdercoating, unless you're a cheap bastard.....and in that case, you get what you pay for.
whats the avg. price for powdercoating a set of rims?

usually $50-55 a wheel. its well worth it in the end. known plenty of people that have used spray paint and after a couple months its chipping and looked horrible. in the end they wish they touched them. also like leslie said if you get new tires mounted, it will fuck it up.
its not worth doing unless you do it right.
pm joebobclark on the board. he does great powdercoating. check my valvecover in sig. he did that. im thinking of having him do my wheels also
