Well i noticed about a week ago that when i shifted at a high rpm like between 6-7k that my gears would grind between 2to3 and 3to4. It don't do it when shifting at lower rpms just high and keep in mind it still goes into gear just a slight grind and then goes in. Now my question is this the tranny synros going out or is this is clutch giving out? It's a 92 civic hatch it has a stock clutch
and stock tranny miles are 180k. :o Not sure when or if the clutch has ever been replaced.

Since you all seem to agree that it's the tranny what should I do rebuild it or swap it for the same one or a different one (i.e. acura)?

 

synchros..................try and get some GM synchro mesh from any GM dealer.......

 

Well an acura tranny won't bolt up unless you have a b series! So swap another si/ex in if you know how, it will come out cheaper!
