Question vtec gos in and out rapidly

b16, no vafc, non chipped ecu, 48psi fuel

at 4800 when vtec is supposed to engage it comes on and then cuts out rapidly and then at about 7500 rpm it finally engages properly.

i got a new screen and gasket for my v. solenoid. and still same problem

my oil level is full. i messed around with the fuel pressure and same result.

any ideas????

Sounds like an oil pressure issue.
It could be a serious problem or it could be something as simple as a bad vtec oil pressure sensor etc..

If your oil pump is going to shit... and not creating enuff oil pressure, this can cause vtec to disengage etc..

mine did that when i tried to hook up a nos solenoid to it so the nos would hit the same time as vtec but it didnt work vtec snapped at 6100 where it was supossed to and then shut off at like 6800 or so and no vtec all the way to 8600 limit
