Because a D Series is cheaper and has just as much potential.

untill you can stroke a D16 to 2.2 L it does not have the same potential .

cheaper yes, but put 7 lbs on a D16 and your about even to the stock hp/tq of an H22. .. now add 7 lbs to the h22.... just to be fair ..

Displacement isn't everything. I guarantee you the D16 I have has more potential than the 2.0 Ford Escort I used to have does.

I was halfway done with a sohc buildup but decided to sell it all and go H22. honestly , if i were to build another sol to have fun with it would be a sohc turbo . they are underestimated . but thats only when this sol has to much power to drive daily. which isnt too far off.

wiring is not bad at all , i found it to be quite fun actually, but thats just me.

good luck . if you want to check out my swap send me a pm and I can let you check it out if i find a spare hour.
Wiring wouldn't be an issue when your putting an OBD-1 motor into an OBD-1 car. Now try that same swap with an OBD-2B car and OBD-1 motor
