Default anyone good with fuel Pumps <pics>

It's a 91 honda accord, I'm not sure if my fuel pump is still good or not, I think the problem might be in the wiring since I had to remove an aftermarket alarm in the process of fixing it. I pulled a fuel pump from a junkyard and connected it to the harness in the trunk. However, with the key in the On position and while attempting to start, I can't get the pump to activate. I've even tried connecting it directly to the battery and nothing happened but sparks. My questions are:

1. Is there a way to hotwire the fuel pump in my tank to test it?

2. Are there any other honda fuel pumps that work with my car?

3. Any tips on dropping my tank and installation of the pump

Thanks for your time

connect a testlight to the power wire at the fuel pump. have someone turn on the ignition key. if you have power for about 2 seconds, and your pump doesnt run then you got a bad pump. its that simple

Default yup that got it

I pulled oput the multimeter and tested it the logical way instead of the haynes way. It's getting power so I'll have to drop the tank. Am I right in thinking that it's going to be a pain to replace it?

any tips?

drain the gas first if you have more than 1/2 a tank. you don't want that crap spilling all over you. and i would use a floor jack to lower the tank.

Actually, dropping the tank wasnt as bad as I thought, maybe it's because I prepared myself for the worse. However, after dropping the tank I discovered that the tank looked a bit rusty so Im thinking about replacing the tank as well.

This is just to my untrained eye, so I could be wrong. And now that I think about is the color of the gas was a orange color is gas suppost to be orange? I called around and for 100 bucks I can get the tank with pump and sending unit still attached.

Here are some pics if they work:
Here's a look inside the tank

Should gas be that color?

Here's where the tank was
