Default Stroker kit???

I am fairly new to the import scene, but I am learning fast. Right now I am in a land far-far from home, and I won't be back for a few months. The past 10 months, I had to learn through a friend of mine, with no pictures of an engine or anything. ALright past the introduction.

My question is this. I know that if I am to put a turbo in my car I will have to re-build the bottom end in order to help the car handle the power. I went through the price of pistons, rods, crankshaft, sleeves and rings. It came up pretty high. I was looking at a stroker kit, and it was just a little less. Do they make stroker kits that I could use for what I want, or do I just have to go with some type of forged material and not get the kit? I want to build the bottom up as soon as I get the car. I have $16000 to spend. So yeah, what exactly must I replace, and with what type of material?

Would that give it enough to handle a turbo running 10lbs track, 6lbs street? I don't want to blow anything too fast ya know.

Damn man, don't need that much boost, but it never hurts to build the foundation for expansion. I am definately looking at some sleeves, forged pistons and rods, and I will start looking into the crankshaft. After that I will probally start to look at some headwork, but I am getting way ahead of myself ya know. Thanks for the advice man.

FYI: There are many Hondas making 600-700hp PLUS on stock cranks, so spend your money elsewhere....

if your only planning on 7-10 lbs, sleeving isnt neccesary....now 20-25lbs you might wanna consider this, what kind of motor and turbo set-up are you planning on?

+1 to everything above. if you have $16k and wanna spend it right, i would get a 92-95 hatch, get a nice GSR in good shape, sleeve it, pistons and rods, nice valvetrain and cams. then get yourself a nice starter turbo kit (GReddy, Turbonetics), and talk to a good shop about putting it all together. i would recommend NRG in tally, www.NRGperformance.com since SS is no more. they do good work and can tune it all for ya there. u can run 10 psi on pump gas and a built motor and make upwards of 300 whp for the street, and plenty more on race gas and the track. with all the work and bolt ons you're probably looking at maybe $12k, with room for rims or brakes or suspension or whatever else you want. definetly DO YOUR RESEARCH!!

funny everyone has all these answers for such a broad question. especially not even knowing what kind of motor hes referring to.

and no stroker kits are not garbage, they just usually are not very cost effective in boosted applications due to more effective/cheaper products out there that will yield more bang for the buck. if money wasnt a factor a stoker crank/rod combo would be a great idea for procucing more power but for the extra $1000 youll spend on it might as well go with a better turbo, manifold, or fuel system. all motor is a different story

and if youre only looking to run 6-10psi max bulding the motor is not even necessary as all b series motors will hold that all day long with a solid fuel system and good, conservative tuning. im not saying building the motor is a bad idea because itll leave you with more room for upgrades later.
