Angry Another problem with my GE Sleeved block.

Well i finally got my motor fired last night once again in the turbo coupe. My excitement ended quickly when i noticed oil pouring out the front of my block. Upon further investigation i found that there is a BB sized hole in my block behind where the dipstick goes. This was not there before i sent the block back to GE for resleeving. because the motor wasnt leakink oil before. The last time it was the sleeves leaking coolant. FUCK GOLDEN EAGLE!!!! I would think they pressure tested it or would have noticed this before sending my block back. this motor has been the biggest headache of my life. I talked to Punkinterviews(Chris) last night to tell him the problem. I dont think there is much he can do. Once i pull the turbo back off along with everthing else i'm going to take a picture of this hole for Chris to send to GE. I'm now left with resorting to JB weld of som other epoxy to fix the hole. I have already rebuilt this motor now twice because of GE. Luckly the hole isnt under pressure. It is a passage for the oil to return. Still now im at the point that in going to put epoxy on a motor that i have Thousands of $$$$'s in that i have not cut corners on. The only alternitive is to pull the motor again. Could you imagine if i had to pay for all that labor. How much would it cost to pay someone to pull a motor 2 times and rebuild it 3 times? Needless to say if GE was closer i would be at their front door to put my size 12 up their ass!!!

just got the turbo off and stuck my head in there. They must have had something hit the block from the inside when they were removing the last set of DEFECTIVE sleeves. It sucks i didnt notice this when it was on the engine stand. You have to look to see it since it is blocked by the sleeve for the dipstick.

qitstrn, PM me. I will give you my boy's e-mail address. He had some major problems with Golden Eagle Mfg. I figure he can help you out on how-to handle it. This fscking sucks though. If they dont fix this situation for you fsck them and their products.

They told me when the sleeves were leaking if it was their fault they would fix it for free. Great so i tore the motor down and sent it to them only for them to say it wasnt machined properly. YA right. So they did me a huge favor and only charged me $450 for something that was "supposed to be free". Now i reassemble the block to find they fucked it up again. I would be smoking crack to think they are going to help me. They can start by paying for the new rings, headgasket, bearings and shipping. Plus 60 hours of labor.

I believe you. I think its like 1 out 5 blocks tend to have a problem.

I"ve seen 2 block personally that never had any problems, but the owners never fucking take it to track. Show cars and benchracers sucks.

But from my expericen, I"ve seen 2 blocks fail. One had less than 6k miles on, the other, maybe 1500 miles, build for roadracing. After 2 laps at Sebring, Endyne pistons fail. Tow it back, replace the piston, check out the block, seems okay. Took it the Bradeton track that following week, 2nd pass, sleeve drop. Both were covered under the 1 year warranty deal, but ended up re-selling after the blocks came back.

Then a few of my customers had them for a quite awhile with no problems. So, I guess its who ever luck.

Sorry to hear about that. Just a buy an EVO and your done, lol
