Default obd0-0bd1 dizzy

on a b16 engine will an obd1 dizzy work if the rest of the car is obd0. I will be converting to obd 1 in a month or 2 but I am getting the dizzy in a few days and I want to ops check it before it gets to far past the day I purchase it.

also when I replace the dizzy do I need to use a timing light or will I be ok if I mark the location of the rotor and line up the cam gear arrows ( so that they point to each other ).

No they are not the same and no it will not work with the OBD0 ecu. As far as the timing goes, just spend the extra few minutes with a timing light and do it right. You can probably ball park it, but why bother.

I plan on it and I have a p28 on the way and I am working on a deal for the conversion harness, but since I am going to be using hondata I would rather have hondata installed before I convert to obd1 so that my car is not without an ecu for a few days, and since it will be a month or 2 before I can do that I just wanted to check and see how I could ops check the dizzy to make sure it is good.
