lowoctane - thanks for the props; just to let you know if your planning on doing a swap i suggest doing the h22. there's plenty of power in the h22. i ran 15 flat on a stock h22 while running lean in my accord.

just wanted to let everyone know i'm using h22 pistons now and that i have to swap the pistons to h23 pistons because the base of the piston sits above the deck of the block. so it will be about another 2 weeks before it's on the road again - and another $650+

honda only offers over bores for .25 mm over. how much did you bore the block?

the h23 block was bored 1 mm - wiseco only offered 87, 87.5, 88, and 89 for the h22/h23 block, so i went with the 88 mm pistons b/c the block was already scarred up when i got it.

Where do you get that the h23 bore is 87.5mm? Stock h23's are the same as h22a's at 87mm. They are essentially the same block casting.

i took my head off and the intake side of the piston sits above the deck of the block while the ex. side sits flush with the block. the dome of the pistons have clearance for the combustion chamber but the intake side of the pistons are hitting the head gasket and the head just slightly. so i'm guessing that is what the noise is that i'm hearing. the valves don't look as if they hit the pistons either.

my question is if the pistons were put in backwards would it make one side of the piston sit higher and ofcourse make it hit the head. wiseco says to put the offset side of the piston opposite of the rotation of the crank. i had engine lab put the crank, rods, and pistons in so the only way for me to know for sure is to pull one of the pistons out
