Question hot-wiring fan

just curious if anyone has any input as to where is a good switched 12v source (in the engine bay, as close to the fan as possible) to splice the fan power wire into to get it to run wherever the car is on. thanks

this is for a 99si...

this is what someone replied when I asked the same question:

"You can unplug the wire harness from the fan temp. switch, located right next to the thermostat housing at the top of the lower radiator hose. Unplug it and then use a jumper wire to connect the 2 terminals inside the wire harness."

I had mine wired to the hot side of the reverse light switch on the fan, but I think it was drawing too much current cuz my car would stay on 3 seconds after i took the keys out, ghetto turbo timer

all the fuses in the engine bay fuse box have continuous power, no switched power,

unless you wanna run some type of relay and go all the way into the cab, use the jumper on the thermostat wiring plug

i think the fan relay is hot from the ignition, it only takes a jumper to find out for sure!

i ran addtl wiring from the fan to the fuse block and then wired in a fuse to a switch installed on the dash. so i turn it on and off whenever i need to. used spade connections so i can yank all the addtl wiring out in about 5 mins and have a pre wired switch for future use
