i looked thruogh the past post because i remember someone with this same problem the gauges just took a shit i changed the fues that makes them light up but all the gauges dont move tech sits a 0, speedo doesnt move. none of them. in the past post someone said something about the speed sensor. where is it and how do i check it out? and would this really cause all the gauges to stop working?

VSS has nothing to do with the tach, only the speedometer... The tach signal comes from the distributor.... Most likely you have a blown fuse possibly caused by a short in the wiring somewhere, possibly a wire that came loose and grounded itself onto something else... pull the cluster out and inspect all wiring and connections, replace the fuse, and then go from there

 

what year car do you have?

 

had to go thriugh today and put a meter on the fuses to fine the one that blew you could not see where it had blown but problem is fixed now thanks for the help
