Default car wont start

ok, so my car wont start...all i did was take the valve cover off of the car and switch it with another one that I painted...and i cleaned the engine with some degreaser...the car was running perfectly fine before i did this...now it wont start all of a sudden, and i didnt touch anything or mess with anything for it not to start...the car is getting good cranking amps from the battery, good spark from each wire to the plugs...i went and bought a new fuel filter today, new plugs, changed the oil and put a new oil filter in it...still wont start, it cranks and cranks and cranks, but it wont turn over all the way....i looked at the cam gears and they arent lined up exactly the same...but i didn't touch anything when i performed these procedures...is it possible that coencidentally the car may have jumped time, and that's why the gears arent lined up?...distibutor and alternator were both covered up with plastic bags while i degreased the engine...the rotor and everything look fine in the distributor...dont understand what the hell is going on with this freaking car

Does it crank over? It still would have started if it is off a tooth but ran like shit. Check the ground on the starter. Fuses, you might have sprayed something that shouldnt have gotten wet. Check the firing order when you put the plugs back in the sockets.

you might need to do the timing, but i have no idea why timing would be off like that if you only removed the valve cover.
