I recently picked up a 97 SH, and when I took it to Honda to have it checked out they told me I needed a new ATTS control unit because this car had taken a corner hard and "Burned Out the unit". I thought that was the general point of ATTS, and if this is not total B.S. I am dissapointed in Honda for a poor design of an otherwise engenius idea.

By the way, anyone know where I can pick up an ATTS control unit under $800?

 

I had a 98 SH a couple years ago and mine did the same thing. Luckily, it was still under warranty. Sounds like Honda made a bum part!

 

Call junk yards. The line Honda is feeding you is BS. They probably just have no idea why it burned out so they are blaming it on you. I'm intersted enough that I'll check the service bulletines and see if Honda released any info to the tech's.

 

Looked into it and there actually was aproblem with the control unit frying due to hard cornering it usually threw a code 79 or 41. From what I read there is a updated controlunit that this won't happen to that they will sell you. This was never a recall and if the warrant is still good then the unt can be replaced. If the warranty is expired it is up to the district service manager to replace it for free.
