You can get a electronic fuel guage anywhere, Discount, Autozone, JCWhitney. Many companies like Autometer make them. You would have fab a mount for it and run new wires, but it wouldnt be too hard.

Power and ground are easy.

Get a fuse tap for power, like this

http://www.jcwhitney.com/webapp/wcs/...&storeId=10101

Grounds you can find almost anywhere on the chassis.

And the rest will be in the instructions on conecting to the sending unit.

i always use the power wire running to the cigarrete lighter since it's always on when the ignition is on, just make sure you're running a big enough fuse, or you will have even more problems.

I wouldnt suggest using an "Always On" circiut for any aftermarket accesory unless it states it in the instructions.

A gas guage wouldnt draw much juice but could drain the battery if the the car sat fo a few days without being started.

that line only comes on when you turn the key to ON, no worries about draning the batt. i've run my A/F gauge off of that accesory for damn near a year now, and been running the ZEX Unit off of it as well for a month, and no problems. if you don't want it on, make a switch. simple.

well if you use the connection for the cigarette lighter, there will be a fuse for that accessory in the fusebox inside the car behind your dash on the driver's side. you shouldn't have to replace with a higher amperage though. just get some wire taps, tap into the positive lead then tap into the ground lead or make your own chassis ground, then use wire taps to plug into the signal wire on the sender unit. mount your gauge, test and you're done.

Exactly what he said ^^^.

Sorry, misread your post. I dont use my cig lighter for anything, so I didnt even know that it is switch on/off with the ignition, as most domestics are "Always On". Good to know though, thanks.
