Default Exhaust Leak---> Power Loss??

Hey all, i recently drove over a bump too fast and ramped off it when i landed i think i bottomed out and busted a hole in my exhaust, cause whenever i accelerate it sounds liek shit, kinda like the annoying sound of a hollowed out cat, i had my frien dlook at it and he said i got a exhaust leak, cause when i hit the gas after a short while of idle im releasing white smoke.

Also ive notived that my car seems alot slower then it used too be, could such a exhaust leak rele cause such a loss of power?

Or did i maybe break something else when i hit the ground?

And if so what could it b?

yeah the sound is annoying, but i still feel a power loss.

Theres about a 5" long 1/2" wide crack in the piping right b4 the muffler, but my friend said theres also a leak somewhere by the bent, he said he felt air release aound there somewhere.

Is that big enuff to create powerloss?

you may have also crushed the pipe causing it to have too much restriction and build excessive back pressure and feel a little sluggish under acceleration.....

Hmmm... I have exhaust leaks at every gasket , but I noticed no performance loss from when there were no leaks (you can just here the leak).

Read my post fellas... what im saying is not a loss of back pressure, Im guessing an excess of back pressure in effect choking the motor causing it to be very tired and sluggish due to a pipe being bent...

Try this... drink something through a good straw, then put a bend in the straw and see if its still easy to drink from it.... Or think about a water hose, what happens when it gets a kink???

I rest my case.....
