By the way, rings and white smoke in the same sentence is never good... Hes talking about piston rings.... If you arent very experienced, dont try it unless you have someone give you a hand who has the experience... Proper tools are also a must to get'r done right.... so yes Id say its a pain in the ass.....

 

does it have to b the piston rings that r fked if u see white smoke or can it just b the hole i have in my exhaust, thats what my friend said.

And if it is the rings what are some symptoms of that, is it bad if i run with bad rings, does it affect performance?

 

when i had my header to cat gasket off, i felt it was faster.. but maybe w/white smoke you busted something internally and its leaking into or on the exhaust. maybe what the powerloss iss caused by..
