i have a freshly rebuilt motor and currently breaking it in. im at 300 miles (whoo hoo). how many miles should be on the car before i get her tuned? my hondata s200 is just looking at me saying tune me, tune me. theres more power in there just waiting to be found, lol
GO TUNE IT!
Make sure you changed your oil at 50 miles ?
Change your oil again at 300 or 500 and go have it tuned.
Breaking on a motor is pretty much crap. Once its been through a couple of heat cycles & a few miles of driving it is broken in.
A lot of people have their own methods.
I had to push start my ls/vtec b/c my starter was dead... I drove it down the block turned around let it idle for 20 min...
I drove it for 20 min... let it get to normal temps then I hit vtec a few times (7k). Came home, let it cool for few hours, drove some more...
Next day, change oil, drove some more and at about 150 miles I was driving it like a champ

i agree with u on the breakin in thing....i have had ppl tell me to put like 1000 miles on a motor keeping it under 3k......but my uncle builds v8's and he gets brand new motors and fires them up lets it get warm and goes and gives it hell ....and the motors are fine.....does that work for hondas also?

1k theory is bullshit.
Clutch brake in is bullshit.
Just dont romp from gear to gear like a nhra dragster for the first few hundred miles. Then your set.
