i broke mine in the helms recommended way and it got stronger everyday.
two sayings:
domestics ~ break them in hard
imports ~ treat them like a baby
but i've heard and have seen break in's done hard and soft on imports. both have turned out well. i say listen to your motor, it will tell you what it wants.

I see people out there spending money on the car to improve it … If you spend half that effort just working on your driving skills, making you and the car work together as a team, then you’ll go faster – period. To make the car go a second faster on the track takes a lot more energy and money than making yourself drive it one second faster.

I agree, As much as i am going to hate breaking my motor in. I still plan on giving it between 750 and 1000 miles. Too much money in it to risk anything stupid. I plan on having it completely broken in within about 2 weeks. I am just gonna drive around for hours upon hours!
