Koni yellows = $500
Skunk2 coil overs = $200-300 new.

$700-$800 for a getterdone setup.

BUY TIEN SS for $800

I think that coilovers are to bouncy compared to lowering springs.

Or the cheap coil overs will give out and eventually make your shocks go out too!

Give me a damn break. Just because you've bought into the JDM hype doesn't mean everyone else should. Tien makes some nice components but their lower level stuff is shit. Add that to the fact that to the fact that getting your shocks serviced is a hell of a lot harder than a Koni setup and I'll stick with the American brands. I think it's around $50 or so per shock to revalve and a little extra to shorten the stroke. I can go to countless dealers in the US, get my shocks serviced, and have them back in a relatively short time. I'd be interested to know what the turn-around time for a set of Tien shocks would be. Getterdone...what the hell ever.

Anyways, back on topic. Why bother with a set of coilovers? A set of drop springs will give you a reasonable height reduction and still ride decently with some aftermarket shocks. The whole point of a coilover system is chassis tuning. Unless you're going to use the adjustability of the coilovers why bother?

I wouldn't. Damn rates are too high. OTS Koni yellows are only rated to handle 450lbs. rates. Last time I was looking the Skunk2 rates were around 500-600lbs. You'll end up killing the shocks a lot quicker unless you revalve 'em to handle the higher rates.

To each is own buddy ole pal.

I personally do not own TIEN, or a full strut coil over system.

I personally would rather purchase a full strut coil over system because:

The resale value of a set of TIEN suspension or any full strut coil over system such as ZEAL, Buddy Club is going to be a lot better then the resale valve of a peiced together system.

The quality & durability of most aftermarket suspension systems such as Tien & Buddy Club is top notch.

blah blah blah... thats good enuff for me

I was thinking about getting Tein SS for my Prelude because it rides like shit now with rims and I want to do something about I really just wanna keep it as low as it can go but I was just wondering if there is anything cheaper out there for a good ride.
