engine smokes, help

Default engine smokes, help
ok my friend is thinking about trading his 90 crx si for a 93 civic with a b18b1 swap and the exaust is cut at the downpipe, but it smokes, only in high rpms though. i dont think it is anything major,maybe the pcv valve being clogged or something, when it smokes it smells like gas and regular exaust but he thinks its the piston rings. he wanted me to ask you guys whet it could be and if it would be a good trade. thanks for any input on the matter

but if it were the rings wouldn't it smoke all the time?

it was dark when i looked at it, it looked black to me

you're just running rich, you have a honda. run some injector cleaner, change your oil, and put new plugs and/or plug wires, this will help too.
