If you're going to BUILD it why not just put that money towards a B or H series?

Because for $1500, you can build the bottom end of that D to kick the shit out of a stock B on boost. Your post did not help with the question at hand so you shouldn't bother to reply.

Now, back to the topic. You can get some SRP pistons and Eagle rods for around $700 new if you look around, then some ARP head studs and you are ready to boost the hell out of that thing. I would also recommend a ZEX cam and valve springs.

I also would not recomment SRP, they are not very tollerance friendly, being only about .01 w/in spec.... a good piston, such as wiseco, or arias, will be .001 w/in spec.

I recommend building your D series... it's less expensive then a swap, and it's fun to beat up on the swapped cars.
If you are going to bore your cylinders .010 or .020 over you can get your piston to wall clearance where you want it with the SRPs. You should overbore anyways to get clean cylinder wall in there.

To each there own on the cam choice, but I have seen HUGE gains with a ZEX cam on a boosted application.

A D series turbo built right will be very very fast (easy 13s) and cheaper in the long run than a B series + turbo.

golden eagle sleeves, crower rods, endyn (wiseco) rollerwave 9:1 pistons, balancing, arp head studs, ferrea valves, portflow springs, retainers, and valve guides, jg edelbrock manifold..... i cant think of anything else right now besides a cam which i didnt name because im not an expert on single cams..... but what ive listed should be the best ingredients for one hell of a single cam....

be prepared to spend alot of money..... hope that helps
