Default b20 sleeves (educated answers only, please)

b20 Sleeves

looking for reliability opinions, 11.4-7:1 n/a, or 8.5-9.7 ish f/i.

Looking for 250-ish HP at wheels.

My question- will the sleeves hold up? Any new methods/advancements to keep a builder from having to sleeve?

thanks, thats cool, i'll definitly look into it/read it.

yes, ls/vtec would be easier... but, about a year ago, I remembered someone talking about a new blockguard made with b20/vtec in mind, supposedly making stock sleeves handle 300+ whp. this is one thing im looking to prove/disprove.

yes b20 blockguards are made for b20's but if you plan on F/I without sleeving DEFINITELY go with an LS block instead. the extra power u make with the .2 liters can be made with an extra lb or 2 of boost.

if you plan on all motor and keep the compression below 12:1 youll have a very hard time getting 200whp. ive seen b20 sleeves crack from 200whp n/a. just depends a lot on tuning also of course

this is why i ask.

I'm still keeping my feelers out for this fabled '200 whp capable on-stock-sleeves' blockguard. Somehow different from other blockguards. Thicker and more porous maybe?

Heart isnt set on b20. I personally have neer looked favorably on b20/vtec swaps, but I was thinking about putting one together for the firsthand experience with one. Looks like its not worth it, but I'd still like more info.
